The prototype of the Solar-Fizz was born in 1992. This was merely an attempt to build a tube collector. The tests with this collector were very promising. The surprise was great when the water temperature reached almost 70 ° C.
The water was too hot to shower, so that a mixing-tap has to be developed. A first mixer (with ball valves) did not suit. The second experiment (with screw valves) brought the expected results.
The first solar shower was created and tested for suitability for two years. Finally in 1995, a first batch of 20 units was built and sold soon. The performance of these solar shower was impressive. The shower had four tube collectors (of 10 liters each). It was possible to shower with warm water during a whole afternoon on a sunny day.
